StoneyBrook Top from the Holla Knits! Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

A few months ago we sent  out 1000 yards of ModeSock in Lazurite for a new design for Holla Knits! Spring/Summer 2014 Collection.  That lovely blue sock yarn has turned into the StoneyBrook Top,  a light, airy sweater perfect for spring and summer. It’s youthful and fun, and looks great with leggings as pictured, or would look good with a pair of jeans or even a short skirt.

Pretty openwork detail!

The asymmetrical hem is flattering.

We really like the openwork on the side and on the top, and the asymmetrical line is flattering for many body types.

Our yarn used is ModeSock, a delicious 3-ply fingering weight yarn, 60% superwash merino, 30% bamboo, and 10% nylon. Perfect for softness, easy care & strength. ModeSock is available in 100g/ 382 yard skeins, so three skeins would be needed for StoneyBrook.

The top was knitted in Lazurite, a strong blue with overtones of blue/black. We can see it knitted up in so many other colors as well. Kathleen would knit this in A Study in Pink, and Annie would probably choose Epidote or Hershel Greene.

Would you like a copy of the pattern? Leave a comment on this post telling us the color you would use to knit StoneyBrook, and you will be entered to win a copy of the pattern. We’ll use the random number generator to choose the winner on Wednesday April 16th.

  1. I would use Mr. Jesmond, but Bristol South Pool would be a close second! The pattern looks fabulous!
