Last weekend we hit the road and drove down to Columbus, Ohio to attend TNNA, the trade show hosted by The National Needlearts Association. We had an eventful ride down (Road Construction! Speeding Ticket!) and arrived too late to attend Marly Bird‘s Designer Dinner. We hear the goodie bag was EPIC!
We hit the show floor on Saturday morning, meeting and mingling and looking for goodies. We placed orders on Sunday & headed back home to Saint Paul that same afternoon. It was a quick trip, but a very successful one!
We found some Beautiful Club goodies (to be revealed in our Club announcement later this summer – sign up for our mailing list here.) and a few cool items we’ll be offering at some of the shows where we’re vending this Summer / Fall.
Midwest Weavers Conference
Our next event is this month right here in Saint Paul, at the Midwest Weavers Association Conference.
The market is free and open to the public (hours below, and a coupon for our booth!) we hope we’ll see you there!
Here are some of the items we’ll have available at our booth there, and at our booth in upcoming events;
Our booth will be stocked with all our lovely yarns and a few new TNNA finds!
We ordered Soak Wash and Flatter spray in our some of our favorite scents. (If you were a member of one of our yarn clubs, you may have received small bottles of this magical, gentle cleanser with one of your shipments.)
We also ordered some incredibly striking, colorful shawl pins by Bonnie Bishoff.
These really stood out among so many pin offerings, we hope you’ll love them as much as we do! Annie’s considering working up a special pattern that should work beautifully with these long, compelling pins – stay tuned!
If you’re familiar with John Mullarkey (and if you’re, not, you SHOULD be!) you’ve probably heard of the Zoom Loom. John is an exceptional weaver, and champion of Pin Loom Weaving. He’ll be teaching at Midwest Weavers, and WE have the Zoom Looms to sell!
We tried these out at TNNA and realized that we HAD to have a couple to play with. You come and play with them, too!
We also discovered a supplier for some lovely 100% cotton warp yarn which is treated to take dye beautifully, so we’ve created a lovely range of colors in 5/3 & 5/2 cotton thread – perfect for a nice strong warp, or some beautiful crochet work!
It’s our first foray into cotton, we’re so excited!
