A creamy, deep white with warmth in the light and coolness when paired with a darker color. This is the definitive neutral, a necessity!

If Scotsmen were stubborn about anything — and, in fact, they tended to be stubborn about quite number of things, truth be known — it was the virtues of oatmeal ‘parritch’ for breakfast.
Through eons of living in a land so poor there was little to eat but oats, they had as usual converted necessity into a virtue, and insisted that they liked the stuff.

Carol Peletier is fractured black hue, scattered into bits and fused together by the pure gold of Carol’s soul.

“Och, easy, Sassenach. If ye can stand up, you’re not drunk.” He let go of the mantlepiece, took a step toward me, and crumpled slowly onto the hearth, eyes blank, and a wide, sweet smile on his dreaming face.
— Jamie, Dragonfly In Amber

Touches of warm yellow on a dark yellow base, a lovely contrast when used with more active colorways.

Daryl Dixon a neutral camo tan, with strong blood & gore red/brown overtones and just a bit of gold shining through.

A steady, lovely, glowing grey which can stand on it’s own, or just ‘be there’ for any other color you choose!

With Pewter you get contrast, but with a milder bite than Coal. This blocky marriage of medium and dark greys will pair beautifully with any of our other yarns.

A small, elderly mane of neat, precise habits … Ned Gowan was a solicitor. Born, bred, and educated in Edinburgh, he looked the part thoroughly.

An architect/surveyor works in black and white, which is also the color of the dreary surroundings Mr. Jesmond finds himself in on his last job before a weekend away with Jenny.
A fine, masculine, no-nonsense, serious colorway, Mr. Jesmond is black, white (cream) and grey. That’s it.

The greens, golds, browns and oranges that seem to inhabit the prairie year round, mixed together in a blocky color way.

‘Every fairy tale needs a good Old Fashioned Villain.’
It seems simple, just black, right? But look deeper, there’s some grey, a bit of cream, even some sharp red hues that move toward a cerise. That’s because an Old Fashioned Villain isn’t as simple as one might think. Perfect for your favorite Consulting Knitter.

Not just black, but a combination of colors overdyed with the darkest grey to create layers of black with unusual glints of lighter grey.

Straighten Your Knocker brings all of the rich, masculine colors of the portal into Sherlock’s world together into one beautiful colorway.
Deep browns, bronze yellows, black and a hint of scarlet; all wrapped up in a rich palette that would please any gift recipient who only wants “brown” (while also satisfying the knitting partner who wants a bit more excitement!)

Officer Grimes is a blend of the beautiful blue of his Georgia patrol car; the deep, rich brown of his iconic hat, the warm tan of his uniform with just a touch of creamy white.

Inspired by the colors of an abstract painting by Caroline Wright, this was originally a color from our DK Yarn club in Winter 2016, and has now joined the ranks of our “freckled” yarns!

The city, the isle, Emerald has always been the signature shade of the color green – and here’s our take on this exquisite hue!

Deep green and brighter touches of light create the creamy beauty of natural jade in this semi-solid yarn.

It’s fitting that the color scheme of Sherlock’s Kitchen is green – all shades of green! We’ve never seen him eat a salad, but he’s surrounded with greenery. Light green, medium green, leaf green, industrial green, jade, olive, spring, pistachio, honeydew – ALL THE GREENS!

Still developing as a human being (aren’t we all!), Rory’s color is a lighter version of Lorelai, but still influenced by Emily, Sookie & Luke. Much of the colorway is white, allowing her room to continue to paint her own palette.

His green scales are a dark green, the green of moss in the deep woods at dusk, just before the light fades, and they gleam like jade. His teeth and claws are black. — A Clash Of Kings

A lovely warm light-olive green.

This is the Fifth of our six TARDIS Call Box Blue gradient, and we think it’s the coolest. Just like fezzes and bow ties.

There’s nothing sea-foamy about our Aquamarine!
This is the color of the beautiful Mediterranean, but from 5 feet down! Light is barely visible, just enough to make the bluish-green glow!

Brienne hails from Tarth, the “Sapphire Isle,” and this color represents the rich greens of the island and the blue of the surrounding seas.
“To prevent Brienne of Tarth from being raped, Ser Jaime Lannister misleads the Brave Companions into believing that Tarth is known as the Sapphire Isle because of an abundance of gemstones. In actuality, the name comes from the color of its waters.” — A Wiki Of Ice And Fire

A mix of strong green and mid blue tones on an aqua base floats over touches of warm yellow.

Carl Grimes is the iconic blue jean mixed with a strong black and white and touches of red.

Everybody into the pool? I have to struggle to keep all of my colorways from being different shades of blue, I love the color so much! What I particularly love about THIS blue colorway, Bristol South Pool, is that it’s so changeable. Nice blue, nice aqua, and they all swim nicely with NO HORSEPLAY.
This color ALSO nicely doubles as Loch Ness, one of our Caledonian Colors from our No Spoilers collection!

This could be named for any of the nuns at Nonnatus House, but Sister Julienne seems the most deserving of her own color. The medium cool blue of the nun’s habits blocked with the white of their wimples and barbettes is one of the more comforting sights in Poplar.

A generous and lively blue, not as dark as Lazurite or as attention-grabbing as Aquamarine, it’s a beautiful and compelling BLUE that sings when knit up with any of our other colors!

Lyanna’s abduction by Rhaegar Targaryn (who had earlier rebuffed his wife, Elia Martell, at a tournament at Harrenhal to present a blue winter rose laurel to Lyanna) sets the stage for the entire saga of A Song of Ice And Fire, and may provide the plot point upon which the drama concludes (rumors abound online…)

Perhaps the most beautiful, at least to me, of our Night palette, Night Music is a symphony of Blue, violet, green and sharp yellow with just a touch of magenta. Running through this color, as through all our Night colors, is the inevitable trail of black.
Night makes every color more mysterious.

Strong red & pink tones on light orange base with a touch of yellow, hot – like the planet for which it was named!

A Study In Pink references the myriad shades of the victim’s coat, shoes, suitcase and – most important – cell phone, blended in a vibrant, snappy colorway which would work magnificently with any neutral, or with an equally sizzling tones!

Reminiscent of a golden sunset, orange red highlighted with deep pinks are mixed with creamy undertones.

The lightest of pure pinks, this semi solid will work beautifully with many of our Freckled and Flow colors, a new neutral!

Sometimes Pink & Black play nice, like on a Chanel box, but in this colorway they’ve met in a dark alley and are halfway through a rip roaring night on the town. And they might not be home for breakfast.

A rich, vibrant blend of pinks, purple and reds over a base of deep brown, reflecting her passion (both in terms of intense emotion and intense suffering)

In the books the Targeryens are a family known for their silver-blonde hair and purple eyes.
This color actually will resonate more with the readers of the books than the HBO viewers, but it allows us to have a beautiful purple color (without resorting to the particular shade of Joffrey’s face at the “Purple Wedding”)

Dynastic marriages aren’t love matches, they’re contracts. When Robb Stark broke his contract with Walder Frey of the Twin Towers and marries Talisa, the stage is set for a massacre. By the time the check comes, everyone has either been killed, or has killed someone. Good times.
But is the Red Wedding solely the work of the Freys?
“The Lannisters send their regards.” ―Roose Bolton
“Explain to me why is it more noble to kill ten thousand men in battle than a dozen at dinner.“―Tywin Lannister

Touches of pink, purple and yellow bring in the best colors from both Loreliai and Sookie’s individual palettes, mixed with green for the beautiful location of the Dragonfly Inn. It seems like a GREAT place for a knitting retreat, huh?

Reds, purples and golds blend together in speckles of color over Pearl yarn. Available in all yarn bases!

Glenn Rhee is a faded red (for his ubiquitous baseball cap) and a deep black (for his beautiful hair) mixed in a dependably repeating color, it will either stripe or pool, depending on how it’s worked up.
Glen is a color you can use for backup, an interesting base, something that will blend in right up until the moment you need him (to kill a Walker, or to provide an interesting counterpoint to a lighter color.)

The rich, glowing purple of Amethyst hovers between a cool blue and a firery red, making it one of the most universally loved colors.

Mary’s Maids is a celebration of purple (sorry, Lilac) in subtle, semi-solid beauty! This colorway would work beautifully with any other color in the 221B series – or with many of our Semi Precious colors.
This is a subtle, ladylike colorway, nothing too extravagant. Charming, likable, not unlike Mary herself.
But there’s some depth there, too,

Reaching, he took the package from my lap and tore away the wrapping, revealing a wide silver band decorated in the highland interlace style, a small and delicate Jacobean Thistle bloom carved in the center of each link.

Sookie’s colors are the rich brown of her auburn/red hair combined with her signature chef’s jacket color of magenta, blended with a touch of gold (reflecting her natural warmth and joyfulness.)

Rich orange and subtle pink tones blend onto a yellow base make a color with a bit more life than the average orange blend.

Dressing for an evening out, a compact is spied, “What a lovely thing!”
But it’s a reminder of a brutal and tortured past, not lovely at all. Beauty can hide pain. Aqua, pink, gold & red are divided by strong slashes of black; a defining colorway.

The ante natal clinics have moved into a beautiful new Community Center, resplendent in it’s cheery, hopeful mid-century colors. Lush corals, aqua, yellows and tans with just a hint of white make up this colorway which is perfect for babies (and adults of all ages!)

“So my sister was alone in the house, except for two or three of the women servants, and they all rushed upstairs to hide their heads under the bedclothes when they saw the red coats. Thought the soldiers were sent by the devil.

The first in our “Night” colors, vibrant shades of peacock, emerald, gold and scarlet are married with a repeating black, then over dyed in a very light orange for a surreal colorway.

The colorway is a mix of black (Lorelai’s raven locks) & brown (coffee!!) with the character influences of Emily’s yellow, Sookie’s pink & Luke’s true blue nature.

Luke is true blue. From his baseball cap (a gift from Lorelai) to the walls of his diner, blue looks good on Luke and sums up his dependable nature.

Emily’s color base is an elegant platinum with touches of golden yellow and light pink, reflecting both the cool and the warm aspects of her personality.

Drogon’s scales are black, his horns and spinal plates are blood red,and his eyes are smouldering red pits. — A Dance With Dragons

One of the constants of A Song of Ice And Fire is the sheer wealth of the Lannister family. Clever and powerful, House Lannister’s words are “Hear Me Roar!” but unofficially their motto is “A Lannister always pays his debts.” They have the means and will power to pay any debt in full.
The Lannisters never declined, graciously or otherwise. The Lannisters took what was offered — Tyrion Lannister

The rich, reddish brown colors of the buckeye nut make it a gorgeous harbinger of Fall. The yarn color is created by underdyeing pinks, yellows and orange, then allowing the yarn to set and dry completely. After that it’s overdyed with a rich brown, allowing hints of the warmer tones to come through.

The FLOW version of Edinburgh, Stirling features the deep greys and blacks of highland stone plus the almost iridescent greens of the parks of Stirling.

A strong blue with overtones of blue/black make this an unforgettable colorway.

The beautiful lilac can grow from palest white to deep, rich purple. Our bright, subdued mix of purple and lavender create a lovely base for a project.

The FLOW version of Thistle, Iris gradients the colors we love from the beautiful Springtime flower; deep purple, magenta, yellow and stunning green.

Depending on the soil, a hydrangea plant can flower in colors ranging from light pink to deep purple or cool blue. This FLOW colorway attempts to capture them all!

The fuchsia plant creates the richest, brightest, deepest pink and purple around. Here is MKY’s FLOW interpretation of this lovely flower!

Even if you’re not a licorice fan, the bright colors that pour from the All Sorts bag is endlessly inspiring! Pink, yellow and black flow into each other in this lovely long-changing gradient.

Yellows and reds marry with shades of orange in a strong, blocky colorway with a rich life of it’s own.

Cream, black and grey, but with the beautiful deep yellow and gold that Jenny seems to favor so much in her ‘nicer’ dresses. This is a color which can stand on it’s own, now as a lovely FLOW colorway.

Our No Spoilers color from “Midwife Speaking”, Community Clinic, has been so popular that we’ve created a FLOW version of the pinks, aqua, yellow and brown that meld together so beautifully!

Strong like the stone, with the depth of color you’d expect from a felsic intrusive igneous rock. Pair this with a second FLOW color for a mind blowing experience!

The FLOW version of our popular “A Study In Pink”, this is a lovely poem of pink, from lightest petal to hot fucsia.

The FLOW version of Gilmarite, breaking down that glorious symphony of blues and yellows into a lovely long stride of yellow to green to deep blue.

Full Cask is the FLOW version of our popular and versatile A Wee Dram from the No Spoilers collection, “Caldonian Colors”

The FLOW version of our popular Mandarin Duck, it’s a festival of reds, oranges, mid range blues all joined with a through line of lovely golden yellow.

Inspired by the beautiful South American Cuckoo Wasp (it deposits it’s eggs in other wasp species nests, the larve hatch relatively quickly and eat the host’s eggs and larve – lovely…) this overdyed FLOW color is one of our hardest to dye, but we think it’s well worth it!

We were going to call this Yellow-to-Orange-to-Pink color “Tequila Sunrise”, but this name is much more fun, don’t you think?
