Ch-ch-ch-CHANGES!

Hey Folks!

madison_knit_in_booth12015 is SUCH an exciting and busy Summer, if it seems that at times The ModeKnit Yarn Team of Annie & Kathleen (& Becca part time!) has been incommunicado, it’s because we’re crazy busy.  And busy is GOOD!

As we grow our company and develop some wholesale accounts, do more fiber shows and just generally get a better handle on WHAT we’re actually doing, we’ll be making changes and improvements (hopefully the changes WILL be improvements!) on our product and on our website!

So stay tuned, we’ll be updating you here on the blog, and also in our newsletter (sign up here!)

Mini Skein Changes

A Few Of Our Current Mini Skein Sets
A Few Of Our Current Mini Skein Sets

We’re changing the put-up of our mini skein sets, and the number of colors included in each set.  The Mini Skein Sets are a labor of love and we really enjoy making them, but the truth is, they are pretty labor intensive.

In order to create a better and more consistent product, we’ll be changing the number of colors in each “No Spoilers” set to SIX, and the skein sizes will be 25g (6 skeins x 25g = 150g set) and 50g (6 skeins x 50g = 300g set)

AND WE WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP!

CONTEST!

One set of each colorway will be awarded to at random to a registered survey taker. Pick your favorite six colors from each set!

The contest closes on Saturday, July 18th at 11:59 pm. We’ll announce the winners via email and this blog on Monday July 20th.

CHANGE NUMBER TWO

We’ve added a new yarn, ModeLuxe DK, and boy is it DELICIOUS! ModeLuxe DK is a 4-ply 50% Silk / 50% Superwash Merino DK weight blend. If you’ve been to our last few shows, you’ve had the opportunity to see and feel this amazing yarn.

Wednesday Wonders Round-up: The Socks!

Joining Crochted Hex’s Worked With ModeSock

One of the most satisfying things about making hand-dyed yarn is seeing the garments our customers create!

The marriage of yarn and project is  fascinating, we love to see how a pretty skein of yarn is utilized in the hands of a skilled knitter or crocheter.

Introducing FLOW!

“Let it Flow, Let it Flow”…..(Now it’s in your head. You’re Welcome!)

Let it Flow

We are SO Excited to introduce a new ModeKnit Yarn; FLOW! We have been developing Flow for some time now, experimenting with long, graceful, gradual color changes.

As you knit, the yarn automatically changes from one color to another, blending beautifully with many lovely hues between the main colors in the yarn.

We are creating brand new colors in Flow, as well as deconstructing our Semi-precious colorways and creating Flow colors in our No Spoilers! colorways.

Flow is currently available in ModeWerk Worsted and supplies are limited. Order Flow here on our website. If you are in the Los Angeles area, A Major Knitwork in Van Nuys has a limited amount of Flow as well. Flow will also be available at The Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair  in August and The North Country Fiber Fair in September.

Special Orders

If you’d like us to create a blended gradient FLOW color for you, or would like to purchase a substantial amount (more than 300 gr) of an existing colorway, email us at kathleen at modeknit dot com (you know the right format) and we’ll work out the details with you.

How does Flow knit up? Pictures of a completed project coming soon…
